Concerned neighbors of the Back Bay/Route 1 area of Newburyport, MA, recognize the need for green, alternative energies to help remove our dependence on foreign oil and help clean up the planet. However, as evidenced by many sources, wind technology has some drawbacks. It is with concern for the neighborhoods and others that may be potentially impacted that we ask for your consideration.

Turbine #10 of the 11-turbine Searsburg wind facility in Searsburg VT collapsed on September 15 in high wind conditions. One of the turbine blades hit the base causing the tower to buckle and the nacelle and rotor assembly to crash to the ground. Click here to read more. (pdf)
